Myofascial Release

Myofascial release bodywork is a ground breaking system that integrates the best of both Western and Eastern assessments and treatments skills.  Excellent for treating pain, ‘freeing impinged movement’, restoring ‘a sense of balance’ helping you, move better and feel great.

The treatment combines therapy exercises, the latest myofascial release massage techniques and comprehensive muscle testing to provide effective rehabilitation from injury, aches and pains. Considering the bio-mechanics in a ‘whole body’ approach to the way we move. At Yoga and Healing Cheshire our aim is to help you understand how posture misalignment and pain are intrinsically related. Using bodywork, an appropriate support package and movement coaching to help you regain freedom in movement and transform your life from the floor up.

The postural analysis is the framework for your treatment, following which expect a specific combination of pyhsio-exercises, muscle manipulation and breath work. The gentle hands on manipulation will endeavour to expertly remove adhesions, restrictions, or build up of unwanted tissue that is preventing movement or exhibiting pain. Expert advice alongside your movement coach plan, will help ensure the healing journey continues whilst at home.

Classic/Swedish Massage

Classic/Swedish massage as an alternative offers a deeply relaxing experience where you have an hour dedicated entirely for you – reconnect with yourself, mind, body and spirit. 

The five basic strokes are effleurage, petrissage (kneading), rhythmic tapping, cross muscle fibre release, and even gentle vibration or shaking. Take a pick from our selection of oils to satisfy the skin making your treatment feel extra special. Treatments are done undressed or in underwear.

Classic massage techniques vary from light to vigorous. Please indicate your preference at the start of every treatment. Using a series of soothing energy clearing techniques that will gently lengthen across muscle fibres with aim to reduce stress related tension.

Thai Yoga Massage


Thai-massage or “Thai yoga massage” is a traditional healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures.

The true ancient style of Thai massage is performed as a ritual between client and therapist. Following a specific sequence the receiver will be positioned loosely in a variety of yoga-like positions during the course of the massage, application of pressure follows designated lines in the body to alleviate tension from aching, firm muscles of which may include using deep static and rhythmic pressures with hands or forearm kneading.

There is constant body contact between the giver and receiver, but rather than rubbing on muscles, the body is compressed, pulled, stretched and rocked.
